I just got a Rainbow SE and noticed that the separator sides were bowed out. Is this normal? Pictured on the left is the SE separator the one on the right is from a D3C and they both have the same part number. (R-4100) Was this a running change is do I have a damaged one?

I put my separators...

in the dishwasher all the time, but only in the top rack. They are undamaged after years of doing this

I'm not sure of the history on this one, but it came to me that way. It ran fine when i tried it without water for a minute just to test it before I bought it. I took it off to clean it and thought it looked weird. Is it safe to use? The shape seems to be consistent all the way around. And the height looks identical to the straight one.
I never thought to put a separator in the dishwasher. I'm not one to like the idea of putting dirt in the dishwasher. Maybe I'm OCD about clean plates. I have always just brushed it off under running water. Even when I was a kid and we had a D3A with an aluminum separator.

The one on the left looks more like it was over-torqued and slightly squashed (distorted).

I would be afraid that it wouldn't perform correctly, and wouldn't use it.
