Hello, I was wondering if anyone here knows the story behind the transparent Rainbiw SE I have. I'm assuming that it was meant to show the machine, although there is not much to it. I would also assume it pretty rare, as I have never seen one before. It seems a bit more powerful than my SE PE, it also has a a little shroud behind the separator that I'm guessing was used as an experiment. Anyways any insight would be appreciated as I have not taken the time to ask my dealer who's been selling for 28 years.

No,there are some with that type of spider, others have the flat one. I think it has to do when it was manufactured but I could be wrong. It's cool looking with the clear, at least you can see when you vacuum if it's getting all the dust!

Good to know about the spider, I've never seen one on the SE before like this. I change my water often so hopefully I will never see that dust build up on the inside.

That's really cool. I've never seen a clear Rainbow but I've seen a clear Meile, and I used have a Filter Queen 2-speed sandalwood model that came with a second clear dust bin for demonstrating the cyclonic action. A crook swindled that machine from me so I no longer have it.

I've also seen a metal Royal upright with a slice cut out of the side to show the innards. It had a clear plastic bag on it.

And Alex Tabor, currently in self-imposed exile, has a cutaway Electrolux Model LX to show the bag ejection apparatus.

Other than that, I've seen prints of various Electroluxes including XI, F, G and 1205 with cutaways but they weren't real machines, just illustrations.

Thanks. I've seen the Miele and royal your referencing. I also have the illustration board of an Olympia one showing the innards.

Smow69 this is all I have. I doubt they made a clear nozzle but who knows they might have.

That is cool!

That's a new one for me. I have seen a clear oreck before. Sadly when I tried to aquire that from the oreck store it has already been stripped for parts and was long gone. That taller spider is original to the se machines. That was designed to work better with the taller seperater.

My

opinion is it was a show model to show the reps the inner workings. I don't see it being a model for sale to public.

I know

It would have been cool to see in stores. I really need to call my dealer and see if I can get the low down on this.

Sbakerde. Thanks for the confirmation of the taller spider.

Lol

eBay. It's the best place to look. I have so done interested in buying it from me , he's giving me $700 for it but hasn't got all of it yet.

"Couldn't you see this in the window of your local friendly Rainbow distributor in 1984?"

No, but maybe 1990. :p lol

1984,1990, same thing!

Especially when the rainbow distributor is also the local friendly time-traveler!
