Rainbow e series mold

Hi, i was just using my rainbow and i got done and took off the hepa filter cover to see if the filter needed replaced and there were white specks everywhere and i wondered if you guys could tell if it is mold or just something that has been swept up.

Also, please don't use your Rainbow until you clean this. Breathing mold is bad and this can cause mold to grow in more places.

I know that a family member used a Rainbow D3C that had a black mold problem for 10 years and has black mold growing in a lot of places she used the blowing end of the hose on.

Usually this happens if you store it on a damp bin. While it does look like the start of mold it could also be mineral deposits from very hard water would almost have to see it up close to tell. If you don't mind touching it, if it is mineral deposits it will have a very gritty feel, almost like fine sand and will feel very dry like hard water deposits.

Oh it doesn't hurt to run the Rainbow sanitizer every couple of vacuumings, it has a bit of alcohol in it which should kill all the nasty stuff.

I havent stored it on a wet basin but its been in my shed for about a month so that could be it i will try the tips posted and see how it works!

Ah HAH!!

It may very well be mold growing in it from the shed. When my parents moved out of their home and the place was vacant, it was amazing to see the mold that grew in that very short period of time.

For a condition that smells like mold, Rexair recommends running the Rainbow with about 1/2 cup of the Fresh Air disinfectant in the machine for about an hour. No water in the system, just Fresh Air. It should kill it all off but probably won't remove the physical appearance.
I'd probably take the machine apart and clean it or take it to a service center for that.
