Hello.

I am currently giving the old family D4G some love and attention. I changed the main motor gasket and the aluminium air deflector (I thought most of it had disintegrated, but upon getting the new one, turns out it was just supposed to be that small) but when I it back together, something didn't look right. Looking through videos, I discovered that it seems to be missing a "spider" and a "flange". According to rainvac . com, these parts were only included on the Special Edition.

Do these parts actually matter? It's been working fine for the past decades, so I assume they're not critical, but I thought I'd ask around and see if it might be a good idea to get them anyway since I got it all apart anyway.

Also, from what I've gathered, later models also had a HEPA filter for the exhaust. Has anyone tried installing one on a non-filtered model? Given the amount of dust and grime on the inside of it, a fair bit of the nasty stuff seems to get past the water stage, so I'm guessing it wouldn't be the worst idea ever to attempt something like that?

Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If

Dysonman reads this he could probably answer your question. Thefe was an old poster who may still post here who is a dealer or something like that for rexair who would know.
I'm not sure on what part your talking about. YouTube probably has a teardown video. I know vacuumdevil has a newer rainbow teardown but not sure on the older ones. I know a poster on here who sells on eBay has a few rainbow teardown but I haven't quite figured out that person's name unless it's electrolux137 but his account is no longer active.
Rainvac.com has parts diagrams of the vacuums if that could be helpful at all.
Good luck and hopefully this bump back to the top will catch someone who can help.
