My favorite was an Atwater Kent 558 Super Heterodyne, made in 1932. Used 2 #58 pentodes for the RF amps, a 57 for a voltage regulator on the screen grids of the 58s,a 55 for a local oscillator, a 58 for the mixer, a 56 for the detector & first AF, and a 47 for output, with an 80 for the power supply. The speaker had a cloth rim on the cone for better bass.
