I bought a Hoover Decade 800 a few months ago off of eBay, and it ran well. Today I used it after installing a new CWP brushroll. We after two belts and a motor, it's now completely useless and I have a very smelly house.

I supposed finding a new motor for it will be costly.

Wrong Belts

My local vac guy is getting me a rebuilt motor for $35.00 and will swap out the motors at no extra cost.

I still don't know if the CWP brushroll cause the motor problems. I also looked at the package of belts that came with vacuum and bag says distributed by Hoover but they are for Eureka models 600, 1400, 1900, 2000, 2100, 4000, 5000, and 6400 series, these belts were very tight almost like they were to small. I'm getting genuine Hoover belts once it's fixed.

Eureka belts are actually larger than Hoover. So I don't imagine that being the cause, and so so many CWP brushrolls have been sold for these with no issue that I'd doubt that sincerely. The chevron shape of the CWP actually is a big improvement. Do use proper Hoover belts tho, they'll give you better results. I think that your motor dying so suddenly was coincidence however. Glad you got a replacement at a decent price.
