For me at least! Today I found this very nice BOL Hoover Tempo sitting all alone on the side of the road for the garbage men. Luckily I got to it first! There is literally nothing wrong with it. It even has a perfect belt. It is just missing the attachments, which I have somewhere. This one is different from the more common baby blue one. This is purple, and not a 'wide track'. I haven't seen this one before! It's a Windtunnel, so it's very powerful and really digs into the carpet. This will definitely be one of my daily drivers!

One of the good Tempo's...

Nice find! The new Tempo's are a step way back, TTI took off the full bag indicator, the headlight, and cheapened it up enough so they could make it a widepath. There is one thing I am unsure of though, while none of the Tempo's advertise having Windtunnel technology, don't they all have it? You mentioned that yours does but do the current ones on Hoover.com have it?

Ya I notice that you can find some great vacuums on the curb it's amazing what people through out. Zach

Thats weird how everyone can find vacuums on the side of the road!

Never ever seen something remotely like a vacuum or appliance on the road. Of course each neighborhood has its own trash day and driving around everywhere all day isnt too practical. lol.

Nice find. I have never seen a purple one. Nor have I ever used a tempo or windtunnel like that.

Whats a Caddy vac anyways?

The Caddyvac was made from the late 90s (not sure of the year, definitely 1997 or later) to 2005. It featured a removable tool caddy and a 7.2amp Elite motor, which changed to 12amps later in the run. This is a picture of my grandparents' TurboPower Caddyvac, with me vacuuming with it. The model in the picture was bought in Decmeber, 1999 at Frys Electronics. I think the one vacman117's picture is the original green model.

Great find! : )

Probably like the brand new Bissel (bagged model) I found. The husband walked out as I was loading it, told me his wife used it for maybe a week and bought a bagless instead.

Hmmm I don't like them myself, they are just too cheap, but it looks brand new! Congrats again.... if you love it, that is all that matters!

Now if this has Windtunnel technology, and some of the newer machines that are CALLED Windtunnels don't (like the T series), what is this world coming to?

I think the WindTunnel MAX & Savvy (that have ONE brush roll) uses TRUE Wind Tunnel technology, unlike the T-Series & Platinum

Generally, I prefer the ORIGINAL WTs (pre-TTI) better than the T-Series & MAX.

As nice as that Tempo is, I can't help noticing the Eureka Victory Enviro-Vac in the background. I'd be tempted to start a thread on those.

Interesting. Never heard nor have I seen one of those caddy Vacs before. Although I dont pay attention to new stuff very much anyways. Especially department store vacuums.

I had an eureka very similar to that green one. Never did like it. Awkward and loud. A lot of my family members had them. Seemed pretty common around here.

The Platinum does use Windtunnel Technology.

Floor-a-matic.... I mean this in the nicest way possible but I didn't ask what you would want over a Windtunnel. If you ask ME, a Windtunnel will out clean a DAM or Convertible any day...

Brandon, the Eureka you had experience with must have had something wrong with it, because the Victorys are about as quiet as an upright gets. Unfortunately the Enviro Vac in that picture has bad bearings and is going in the trash.

I DO like the WindTunnel for its performance; but for style I like the Dial-A-Matic. Both are my favorites; I use whichever I'm in the mood to use.

And I also like the bagged WindTunnel MAX (which I own) too, just as much as my 1998-2000 WT canister & uprights.
