Hi,

My father has located an old power nozzle at an estate sale that we are not sure what vacuum it came with. It is turquoise and is made by Preco Corporation. Anyone ever heard of such a company or power nozzle?

Preco:

The Preco nozzle was a universal tool, meant to be used on whatever vac you had. It was actually an air-turbine brush, not a power nozzle, strictly speaking. It was available in the early 1960s. I've yet to use one, but I've never found an air-turbine brush I felt was as thorough as a true power nozzle. Maybe Preco was different.

Why not fire it up and let us know how well it works?

Hey Chad, I have seen this power nozzle in pics only especially in old catalogs. There were several vacuums with the Preco option, Singer, Westinghouse are a couple that come to mind. I can't imagine them being too great, but back then the carpets were lower pile and maybe didn't do a bad job. It seems to me that I saw somewhere where it was a $19.00 option on some vacs. I imagine they were popular when Electrolux and Whirlpool, Kenmore, had power nozzles and the others didn't yet have them. It was a quick, inexpensive alternative.
