The hose on my Constellation 858 has developed the usual cracks but I’ve not found a source for a replacement, does anyone here know of a good one?

I also need a non-electric hose for my Compact C-5. There appear to be two or three available from various vendors: a white one, a cream one, and a black one - the white and cream may be the same hose. None of the vendors have any brands listed, but if anyone has feedback on recently purchased Compact hoses it would be much appreciated.

A few years ago when I needed a hose for my Filter Queen D33 I looked at the reviews for aftermarket hoses and ended up buying a new Health-Mor hose instead. It’s black not brown, but it works flawlessly. In the case of the Constellation I can’t find a Hoover listing for the hose, and at Compact/TriStar the only hoses they have are the later electric pump handle type which should fit but I don’t like the style and don’t need the electric wire.

Thanks to all who reply!

The machine end fitting for a Compact hose is the same as for a Silver King, though I think those might be even harder to find and they use the other attachment style (that slips inside the hose end like Royal or Filter Queen).

For the Constellation, I don't think you will likely find a replacement for the Ultraflex hose material.

Are the cracks near the ends of the hose? If they are, I would remove the ends from the hose and cut off the cracked portions and then re-attach the slightly shortened hose to the ends.
