Question about this tool and my Kirby 560

Hello i found this tool on ebay and will it work on my Kirby 560 i really need to get my fan off of it

No, that tool will only work on the Omega to the Legend, it will not work on the older Kirby's. They make a tool that locks onto the hole in the armature near the cooling fan, I forgot the part number, contact Ben (kirbyclassicIII) here on the forum, maybe he knows the part number?

You can do as I did in the past and use an ice pick or an awl instead of buying a special tool. works just as well.

Joe, I'm thinking he needs the tool to lock down the armature so he can unscrew the fan. This is only needed if is a metal fan.


 


If it's a plastic two piece fan, then you only need the ice pick or a small screwdriver to put in the hole on the belt shaft. Grab the fan and twist the shaft clockwise to get it off. Works every time.
