Just wondered if anyone has any info on a question about my model Hoover 475?? I just got done cleaning the motor and re greasing the Lower bearing. My question is does anyone know or have a set of carbons for the motor?? I would like to replace them since they are pretty worn down but have no idea what carbons would fit this model due to the age of the machine??? If anyone has any info or a set or carbons they would be willing to sell please let me know. You can email me at [email protected] or just find me on Facebook. Sincerely Sam

Ebay

I can't remember what size the 475 brushes are but if you measure them in millimetres and put the dimensions into ebay search you'll find lots of Chinese carbon brushes for very little cash. Obviously Hoover brushes were originally in inches but the metric equivalents are close enough. The cheapest I have found is 5 pairs of brushes including springs for £1.99 ($2.53) delivered!

The springs tend to be a bit short on these generic sets but if you get the brushes longer that makes up for it.

Which direction do you measure to get size.
