Hans, what a BEAUTIFUL cleaner you found there!! You are one VERY lucky man to have found a brand new Westinghouse from 1956, not many collectors would have that opportunity. Enjoy your new cleaner in good health.

Just curious, how would you rate the airflow and suction on this compared to other canister vacs like Lux or Compact?

That's such an amazing find! You're definitely the one who deserves to have that displayed proudly under your big Westinghouse banner. I remember seeing that when Robb brought it to the North Canton convention in 2008 - there aren't words to even describe how beyond perfect the cleaner is.

That is one beautiful Westinghouse! I also got to see it at the 2008 Convention, and also at an Ohio mini-meet the year before. I also have one of the same model--only mine has 50 years of use on it! Mine belonged to an Aunt & Uncle of mine and I got it when they moved into assisted living. The Uncle had worked many years at the Westinghouse plant in Mansfield, OH and most of their appliances were Westinghouse at one time, think employees got products at half price at the company store they had back then. Here's a pic of mine, what yours would look like if it had been used all those years. Congrats again, and remember, You can be SURE--if it's Westinghouse!

I had the later version of this.
Mine was avocado / white and the exhaust port was on the underside with a cover that would diffuse the air upward from the back.
