Came across these two beauties on ShopGoodwill.com, they seem to be in decent shape with the cloth bags and everything. I'd try and get them, but I've got my hands full with my own Kirby projects right now.

Anyone interested in a 508 or a 512?

The 512's in Southern California with Pickup Only and the 508's in Michigan with shipping available.

508 is a rare vacuum. Shame I am broke. Would go good with my 510 but that $43 shipping charge just to travel 2 hours south is kind of ridiculous.

Also what is the deal with that description?

Shipping Weight: 106 lbs.
Actual Weight: 17 lbs.

Goodwill trying to cheat the shipping charge or what

I saw that

Original bag, cord, metal roller, black emtor tray, bumper, wow. It appears the casting on the front is broken on the left side, as I see a deeper chunk taken out if you look closely. Handle grip can be switched with an earlier one, and painted grey if needed, and there is a 510 headlight cap with grey trim on ebay.

Um

I'm not seeing the chunk out of the front on the 508. It's an early 508 the model plate has gold patina. If anyone buys it and wants to trade vacuum parts in trade. I have 3 pristine belt caps. I have slot of early 500 series parts.
The 512 is okay but it's not original.

U

Could've been right my phones took a poop and I'm on a crappy phone.
I have an all original 508 but no bag.

Just a follow up on that, so it’s actually kind of a mystery vacuum. The metal appears to have been very recently polished, the cloth bag doesn’t have a speck of dust in it which is weird because it’s definitely an older bag, the cord is an aftermarket one but still has a rounded machine in sort of similar to the original, it has what appears to be a new headlight cover and the weirdest of all is that it has an emptor off of a model C.

Trim

The headlight trim is OK replacement for older Kirby's. The bag looks like replacement Kirby bags in 50s and 60s. I don't know on the emtor but the model c is valuable to some people.

Yup, I would have bid on it, but no $. It would have came out to over $60 for me. Big chunk of money. There will be others I'm sure.

And then it was done.

Now, the auctions have closed. I don't think anyone picked up that 508, so it'll probably get posted again. I'll link it any any other interesting machines I find if they pop up again!

@gmarquez, I remember seeing your post! That's awesome that you got it, I'm glad it's going to a good home. Also, it's always fun to have a mystery!
