Powerhead from HYLA vacuum (Wessel-Werk EBK 340) any good?

I just found used ph from the HYLA water filtration vacuum. It seems like it's exactly like the Wessel-Werk EBK 340.
I found it from the Internet thrift store. Lady who sells it says, that it has been used only couple of times and price, just a 20€!

So very tempting, but is it any good?

Yes it is a great power nozzle. All of these bigger Wessle werk nozzles are great deep cleaners. Now keep in mind the one produced for Hyla has a different size neck diameter. It's bigger than most other power nozzles. The wands on a Hyla are bigger and so it has a bigger neck. I'm sure you can change this out with any other Wessle werk neck part. I just don't want you to buy it thinking it will fit all of your other vacuums. You will just have to measure what you have have and ask the seller to measure the neck (wand hole) and see what you have that it will fit.

It's a great power nozzle, the only thing it doesn't have is manual height adjustment, if you're ok with auto adjustment it's a great power head.

Neck size

Sounds good and for 20 euros I can't go wrong. I did speak with the lady selling it and she said, that it comes with the pipe, wand and hose. Wow! She clearly didn't know the product, because I had to explain that those parts will come apart for easier postage. Of cource I can't use the hose in any of my vacuums without modifications.

If PH has bigger diameter neck it's probably 35mm. Most vacuums have 32mm. I have small adapter which goes in to the 35 pipe and converts it to the 32mm. I also have other adapters, but I don't remember their size.

Seems like this is quite popular nozzle in central vacuum systems

It is very popular indeed. Hyla, Miele, Fairfax, Oreck, Silver King, Water Matic, BK, Airtech, Vortech Force, Airstorm, Patriot, I believe a couple other odd brand water filtered vacs and most central systems all now use these.

Having parts you can't use on your machines might be an advantage, assuming you have corresponding parts that will work. Sell the surplus parts to someone who needs them and you could significantly reduce your bottom line acquisition cost.

It finally arrived and what a surprise. It came with telescopic pipe and hose from HYLA !
All this cost just a 20€. Woman who sell this to me obviously didn't know the value of these.
Now to the powerhead. I was sceptical at first, because it don't have height adjustment.
My experience with the Miele SEB-217 ph isn't very good on higher pile rugs. It's very hard to push on those and it sinks in to the high pile carpet.
However this WW was a surprise. Very easy to push and it doesn't just skip the pile. It seems to groom deeply and still is easy to push. I suspect that it has something to do with the grooves in the soleplate (behind the brushroll).

So far it seems impressive.

I agree that I've used some that are very hard to push in thick carpet. I have to open the suction bleeder on the hose (if vacuum is equipped with one). The first time I saw one I thought to myself ha that's a cheap power nozzle and that brushroll looks like a joke. Boy was I surprised! I love all of mine.


Yay you got the hose and wands, now you need to go out and find a Hyla! They are all over Ebay but most are in the states so it would be very risky shipping them.
They are made in Germany and shipped here. Not sure where else in this World they are sold.
