Power Team canisters

"Power Team" Canister to go with the vacuum that does not have built in tools.

I'm curious vacuumland are there any power team canisters that are actually good?
They always seem to be barely satisfactory.
The problem did I see what the existing options or at least what I have experienced with here in the US market. Over the years I have sold and seen many different combinations with Oreck, Hoover, sanitaire ,Simplicity ,Riccar,royal.
I just have never been satisfied with the following on any of those products.

#1 quality control .
#2 noise.
#3 filtration
#4 tool storage
#5 the lack of ability of practical Wheels.
#6 power water lift and CFM.

So what does vacuumland like?

I have paired my excellent carpet cleaning "tooless" Hoover Bagged Platinum Lightweight upright with an excellent suction-only Miele FreshAir canister (Canadian version of the US "Alize"). This vacuum team for me is ideal as each unit is a pleasure to use for each of its purposes...... Hoover for carpets, Miele for everything else. No combination comprimises!

@eurekaprince I have definitely sold oreck with Miele canisters on many occasions. Definitely a winning combination. But I was curious if any over-the-shoulder strapped unit would be up to modern specifications.

I've never seen one of those mini-machines that I thought was up to scratch. They're loud and underpowered, and not really any handier than a conventional canister. They trade the ease of use of a Dustbuster for not quite the power or capacity of a true canister, and IMHO, they're not really suitable for any kind of cleaning that's beyond the capability of the better handheld units today. (Which is the one place that Dyson really does seem to beat the competition - their battery-powered handhelds are solid, if pricey.)

I'm sure there's someone they're good for, but for my money, I'd rather have either an upright with tools - even clunky Kirby or Royal tools - for very occasional use, or a power nozzle canister if I'll be using both regularly. Or, if I want light and handy, a light upright plus a handheld, with a bigger canister in the closet for the rare times when I need it.

good power teams

I think these are all good power teams, in no particular order. I can't comment on the tool storage though since I store all of my attachments in a tote. The Riccar Prima and Simplicity Wonder, The Sebo airbelt D4, the Electrolux Ultra One Deluxe, any of the Miele power teams, especially in the C3 line. The Perfect C101 and C103, these are basically clones of the American Electrolux tank canisters. For water filtration, a Rainbow or Sirena is a good choice. If you want the most powerful power team that is available, get a central vacuum unit, attach a utility valve to the in-take if the unit does not have one built in, and attach a central vacuum hose and the power nozzle of your choice. This is probably the best cleaning power team available, if you are looking for a canister to pair with an upright, most of these companies make straight suction models as well, for that category I would also suggest a Numatic Henry. I do think a good power team canister will clean carpets as good as an upright and sometimes better.

There used to be.

The simplicity woosh. It was a decently powerful unit. The one problem with it was that it was a bright ugly yellow. Definitely more powerful than the sports and used a hepa bag. To my understanding the molds were damaged so they're no longer in production.

What about the Clean Obsessed canisters. The quality is decent, good profit margin, and have excellent suction for the size of them.

The Riccar version of the Simplicity Whoosh was black, the Fuller Brush version was red, the CleanMAX version was dark green.

I loved those machines. The tool storage, the Hepa bags, the stretch hose, the deluxe attachments, everything. I really loved the optional HEPA exhaust filter, which went onto the blower end and not only diffused the air exhaust, it also quieted it down tremendously.

It was a shame when we could no longer get them. I sold several hundred to folks around here in the two years we had them.

My endorsement would be for the Eureka/Sanitaire Mighty Mite. Yes, they are loud, but they are powerful, cheap, and reliable too.

At first from the title I thought you were saying you didn't know of any good power team canisters. I was thinking how?? LOL

As for the small canisters themselves, I have an older Eureka Mighty Mite, with a lower amp motor, and it is very quiet, and has pretty good suction.

I also have a very small Sanyo bagless canister badged as a Kenmore. It is quiet and has good suction, the only issue is the filter tends to clog quickly and the attachments are very small, it's more for cleaning a Japanese apartment than a larger home.

I am familiar with the cleanmax canister which is a pretty decent machine I was unaware of HEPA bags being available for it and as far as I know there's no help exhaust filter that sealed. Well thank you for the tip!

The Mighty Mite 3 the current model Eureka sanitaire Mighty Mite has plenty of power. But lacks modern HEPA bags good set of wheels and most of them do not have sealed HEPA filters there are some santaire's that do.

My question comes more from the customers point of view who believes they need one of these things.
As I'm sure you're quite aware I have plenty of vacuums that I would rather use.

I appreciate all the suggestions and I'm curious to see what else is out there. I've always looked when I've gone to the VDTA but never really found anything.

Hoover Commercial Porta Power is better made than the Eureka Mighty Mite. I had a  Mighty Mite when they were well made. The latch  now is cheaply made and will eventually break. Also the way the hose attaches is not as good as the Porta Power.
