Hey everyone, my Perfect backpack vacuum provides a way to connect an electric power nozzle, it has the standard mini female connector. While my apartment does not have carpet, there are times when I need to clean the area rugs outside, and I may need to clean carpet at some point in the future, so thought about getting a power nozzle for it. Does anyone know which power heads are available that have a pig tail cord on them with the two prong connector? It seems most power nozzles use a wand to make the connection rather than a universal cord. From what I can tell, the Lindhaus power nozzles include this, and I think there is a version of the Wessel Werk ebk 340 that does as well. Unfortunately the ebk 360 only seems to come with a direct connect wand configuration. Does anyone know if the nozzles I mention would work? I don't think any of the centec nozzles are made this way either.

Mike,

Go to central vacuum.com, they sell a Dustcare generic grey power nozzle available in a two prong old style, or a three prong hose connection cord.
It is the old Eureka Express style with the steel vibra-groomer beater bar brush roll. It has an on off foot switch.

Yup

The Lindhaus nozzles have a male pigtail on them, and there is a version of the EBK 340 that has one, my Silver king uses one. It sounds like you should look into an extension for it though as the pigtails on the nozzles aren't very long.

pig tail cords

Apparently the cord oon the Lindhaus is 3.5 feet, not sure about the ebk340's cord. I think Ricccar has a universal power head with a cord as well, but none of the dealers here seem to know about it, and I'm not going to pay the high retail price on their web site. Is that dustcare nozzle any good?

Mike,

Well I have one, and it has lasted me since 2002. It is the same one Beam used from Eureka before Electrojunx owned beam.
Mine came with my Eureka Oxygen first series canister, and I still also have one from the 90's from my Eureka 8295 Express that still works.
As for pigtails, they also have extensions. if not brand new, a good repair shop that saves parts from old machines they scrap.
I got one a few weeks ago for my 1980 Eureka 1289 power team. The cord from the hose to the canister power receptacle was missing. By the way, it is the only double male power nozzle connection I have ever seen. You never want a male end to be "hot" with juice, so I had to make sure I pushed it in as far as possible into the hose. Still, it was a few inches short, so I had to use another short extension.

bought a couple of them

Ok, I bought what I think are two pretty nice power nozzles. Since my apartment is all hard wood floors, they won't be used every day but will definitely come in handy if I use my backpack vacuum, or one of my central vacuums to clean area rugs. Would love to get any comments from anyone who has used either one of these. I got the universal version of the Wessel Werk ebk340, I'm not sure if the ebk360 is a whole lot better, but the 360 does not come in a universal version, but I've heard that the 340 is still very good. The other one I bought is the Lindhaus PB14 pro. Apparently it's supposed to be better than the regular pb 14, though I'm not sure what the differences are. Again, would love to hear from anyone who has used either one of these power heads. Perhaps I will volunteer to go to my girl friend's parents house and try cleaning their carpet with them, that would be a good test.

You can find used pns on Ebay for $30-60 with shipping.

You'll need a hose cord for about $15, too.

And hose cord straps.

The wands should be the locking type, with a button release vs. friction fit wands that will come apart when pulls back on the power head when vacuuming.

Ebay, etc.

Those would work. Not the Express type I was meaning. I needed that burgundy color one for one of my 1980 Eureka brandywine canister's. The add said Sold.

Mike,

Yes, they do come with cords, unless you're buying used off of E-bay some times.
You may need an extension pigtail if it will not reach your hose.
Before ordering, look at the three different pictures they show of hose ends and match it with your hose. When I replaced my central vacuum hose, the repair man at the vac store had to attach an adapter to the new hose so my older power nozzle pigtail would connect t it.

Mike, if your hose already has electrical wires in it, than NO, you don't need a hose cord and straps.

You made it sound as though you have a standard hose, but you happen to have a pn plug on the vac, which would be understandable.

I can't understand why the manufacturer would sell a straight suction vacuum (with no pn), but include an electric hose.
It would be nice, but not cost effective for them.

Do you have pictures of what you have?

power nozzle hook up

I have the perfect backpack. The hose itself is not electric, but, on the waste belt, where the power switch is, there is a mini female connector where you can connect a power nozzle. I guess the idea is that you attach the power nozzle to your hose, then assuming it has a pig tail cord, you connect it to the connector on the waste belt. It's surprising that more backpacks do not have this. Many of them come with carpet tools but that will never clean as good as a spinning brush. In this case, the power nozzles that use direct connect wands would not work, you would need one with the universal cord. I guess both types have their advantages. The corded nozzles are universal and will work with just about anything, but switching attachments is not as fast since you must remove the nozzle from the wand and unplug the cord. On the other hand, direct nozzles are quicker to connect but the nozzle, wand ahd hose must all be designed to work together.

I have a mastercraft brand power nozzle. I use it with my older advance wet/dry vac. I also use it with my proteam running vac. works good.bought it from Hesco online

got my two power nozzles

Hey everyone, got the two power heads I ordered. Kind of makes me wish I had more carpet to test these with, but for now area rugs will have to do. I haven't tried cleaning an area rug yet, but I have pulled the Wessel Werk ebk340 out of the box. By the way, has anyone heard of another Wessel Werk nozzle called the premier 850? Wessel Werk does not even list that on their site, and I've heard it's just another name for the ebk340. Right out of the box, it looks well made, has a nice coiled pig tail cord attached. I have a 35 foot cord that will let you use a power nozzle on a vacuum with a nonelectric hose, so I plugged it in, and, wow. That thing spins quite fast. Also has a nice headlight on the front. From what I can tell, the roller has two sets of brushes, one on each side. As far as the height goes, I think it's preset at one level, the head doesn't even seem to float, but not sure on that. Has anyone cleaned with the 340, and if so, what do you think? It also has nice rubber wheels and a squeegee, I'm assuming that's for hard floors. At this point, I don't have any button lock wands, just friction fit, but I don't think this will be a problem, the fit is solid. I know the ebk360 does have a height adjustment setting, has anyone cleaned with both the 340 and 360 and if so, do you notice a big difference? I'm definitely going to see if I can find more carpet to test this with. Ok, going to go open the Lindhaus one next.

lindhaus pb 14 pro

I'm actually a blind person, so while I could try to take pictures with my phone's camera, I doubt they would look very good. So, the Lindhaus nozzle is also very good. I think the roller is metal, it's slightly quieter than the EBK340, and this one does have manual height adjustment. The bottom of the nozzle is mostly metal, and again, it has a nice pig tail cord on it, should plug right in to any standard electric hose, or a backpack if it has the hook up for an electric power brush. This nozzle also has edge cleaning capabilities. I definitely managed to pick up two really good power nozzles, if there comes a time when I need to clean a lot of carpet, I will definitely be ready.
