Hello,
Firstly, I am unsure of weather this belongs here or in the off topic section so please forgive me.
I have always had an interest in Polti Vaporetto and L'ecospersia steam cleaners and steam vac combies. as well as the Vaporella steam generator irons.
We have a Polti Vaporetto ECOpro 3000 steam cleaner, I think we got it in 2002 from currys, but I may be wrong about the date, Its fanatstic at removing stains from the carpets, its good at cleaning up messes made by our dog Samantha and its just fantastic at cleaning the car and oven.
You can perchase iron attatchments for them, so its very good as you can use it for a multitude of things.
I will get some pictures of ours tomorrow, but for now, I have two links I wish to share.

What they don't tell you about using the iron is that filling cap on most steam cleaning machines cannot be opened until the steamer has cooled down. This can be a very long time, so if one is ironing at the water runs dry, it can be a long time before ironing can recommence. I had never thought of this, it was my cleaning lady who told me. She has a steamer which she uses to defrost my refrigerator. She was telling me how good the iron is, but that having to wait for it to cool down completely outweighs the benefits. She uses a steam generator iron now.

On ours, it buzzes when the tank is low, you then need to open the tank cap slightly and squeeze the steam trigger to relese excess steam, then, you refill it and wait two mins for it to heat up

That sounds like a much better idea Tim. Is yours the type with a water reservoir and a pump to the boiler? If so, that is how the generator irons work.

Linda has a karcher and when it is hot the cap just spins round when she tries to take it off. She said it can be an hour sometimes before it cools enough.

Woops, Ive made a typo, spelled my name wrong (super sorry)
These have a boiler that the water goes directly into (I think) the cap is designed so it doesnt pop off under pressure, its very safe.
Im glad we went for a polti and not a cheap, lesser known make.
Ours can be used as a wallpaper stripper.

These are made in Italy, so there are no cheap componants here

Sadly Im not a fan of Polti. I had one of their steam guns for a short while a couple of years ago and getting spares for it was useless. Then I had their Cinderella stick vacuum, which was even more difficult for dust bags. The UK customer services don't know what they are selling IMHO.

Im planning on gettin an iron attatchment for ours, or I could get a polti steam generaror ion, but Im unsure.
@sebo_fan: The polti steam gun was called the "Vaporetina" it wasnt made in Italy by Polti unforunantly
