PN-1 Electrolux Problem

Hello,

I replaced the drive belt in my PN-1, and it works fine until I secure the shoe, or bottom plate. In fact, I thought maybe there was a difference in shoes, so I switched with another PN-1 I have. It worked for about 15 secs, then the brush got stuck again and tripped the circuit breaker. I have checked and double checked to ensure that I have screwed everything correctly in place, so I don't think that's the issue. The brush runs just fine when I don't have the shoe secured.

Please let me know how to resolve the issue. Thanks.

As with a jigsaw puzzle everything must fit.There is a slot on the brass bearings(early-small,later-larger)that the tab on the hold down strip fits in.I would recheck this and other parts.Don't think you will have a big problem.These nozzles lasted for years and years but rarely seen from average customers now.

Thank you for the reply. I did double-check to ensure that the tabs on the hold-down strips were in the slots of the brass bearings. Then, in talking with an Electrolux/Aerus rep today, she deduced that my motor is in the beginning stages of failure. I neglected to mention before that I had replaced the brush with one that had longer bristles which is making the motor run harder. Hopefully, if I reinstall the original brush the motor will last for a while. I appreciate your time and information. Take care.
