Quite a few years ago I received an email from a nice lady from the Midwest who found my web site. She said she had her mother’s “old Electrolux” in a green storage trunk. She said she didn’t have any need for it and if I wanted it she’d send it to me at no cost.

Imagine my surprise several weeks later when I came home from work to find a refrigerator-size carton on my front porch! “What in the world?!” I wondered. I lugged it into the house and unpacked it. There, to my disbelieving eyes, was a beautiful Electrolux Model LX! The lady had packed it well enough that it would have survived a nuclear holocaust.

It came with many extras including the floor polisher, sprayer and de-mother. And wonder of wonders: Tucked into one of the pockets of the storage trunk was the original instruction manual!

Cut to present day…

As most of you know, I am facing with the necessity for a HUGE downsize of all my stuff as I prepare to move to a much smaller place. I am having to let many beloved things go including, sadly, the Model LX. I have limited myself to my seven most-favorite Electroluxes, two Kirbys and a couple of floor polishers.

Rather than send the LX to a sad ending at the hands of a junk hauler, I wish someone who can come and get will take it. Again, as with all the other stuff I am parting with, I just don’t have the time or energy to pack and send it off to someone.

Here are some photos of the LX just as I received it.

So, please…if anyone out there wants this beautiful Model LX, won’t you come and rescue it? Thanks!

Wow, Charles. That thing's beautiful and it's one of my dream machines. My grandparents had one like that, but not in the hassock and not with such a comprehensive set of tools. If we weren't on opposite sides of the continent, I'd come and scoop it up immediately.

Wow! Very nice, and with the wheel kit too! And the hassock has survived well. So many people try to actually sit on it and crush them, I have seen several on eBay in pact years and the lid has bends in it or it's ripped off the box altogether.
