Here's the pictures I promised! What does everyone think? Also I'm not sure the exact age of the kenmore, so if it doesn't qualify for this age group of sweepers I do apologize.

Kirby Tradition

That's one of the only second-generation Kirbys that I liked the look of.  Have you polished the metal at all?  Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish works wonders.  You'll be surprised how a Kirby can shine!

I tried a cleaner that was safe for metal, but I havn't tried Mothers yet! Funny enough we sell that where I work at so I can get a discount on it. Thanks for the information and the compliment!

That's awesome!  Nothing better than getting a discount on supplies for our babies, right?!  LOL  Yeah, for sure that Tradition is pretty.  I would LOVE to see it all shined up, as I don't have a traditional Tradition of my own.  (Hahaha, that sounds funny... traditional Tradition.)  If you can get a picture with more light on the Kirby, so we can make out some of the finer details, that would be super awesome!

Anyhoo thanks for sharing and welcome!

Discounts are the best! Thanks again for the kind words. I would Love to post another picture! I have a weird problem with lighting in my house. There are plenty of light fixtures, but for some reason in photos the house sucks the light out of the pictures lol. It is best to take pictures in the day time, oddly enough my house is so bright during the daytime I don't need to use lights in any room in the house! I will say the headlight on the kirby defnity comes in handy.

KirbyClassicIII:

Ok, so this is what I've had problems finding out. So, it doesn't have the lever in front/side to pop open the headlight compartment. From what I've seen in videos, this would identify it as being an 81 model, which would mean it would have the non metal fans. I took this picture of the tag underneath, which I believe says it's a 79 so I have no idea. I can't figure out how to get the headlight to pop up.

Actually, they changed the switch design back to the Classic Omega/III version by early 1980 (serial no. F500000) but until serial no. G000001 the factory-installed fan would still be metal and 10 blades.

May I ask you what the serial no. would be for your Tradition, in order to determine the original fan type? If it is before G000001, the front and rear wheels would also have smooth treads.

I know the serial number is an F number, I'm at work right now so when I get home I'll make sure to post it for you.

Thank you for the information! Glad to know I should have the metal fan, what I'd hoped for. I actually just used it after I took the pictures to to sweep with! The "photo shoot" must have inspired me to use it lol!
