UB088 Turbopower Plus

As with the UB070, other than what you can see, I dont know much about this model.

This is the last Turbopower 1 model to be covered in this thread, though other versions and models were sold elsewhere in the world - I wont be dealing with those:-)...

That, as far as I know, is all the Turbo1 models that were sold in the UK. If anyone knows different or can add details of others, then please do. It will be interesting to know if there were!

New models to cover from tomorrow, starting with the Turbolite.

Cheers

Hi Chris.

Thanks for the pictures you have posted.

Re: the black machine - the colour would associate that machine with being a version of U2408, which is officially described as being Black Tulip shadow and Gloss Black. There being no other black turbopowers listed, I would assume its this model.
Maybe model U2408 was THE exclusive model, with the Black version being produced for Littlewoods and the other two versions (the matt blue/grey and later white) being produced for Argos. Its a theory anyway.

I think I agree with you re: your photo of the white Turbopower. Its colouring and date would definitely make it being a U2864 a distinct possibility.

Fingers crosed we shall be able to confirm them all one day.

Thanks again.
Paul

The very budget cleaner!

A new model was introduced, sitting beneath the Turbopower Juniors in the overall range.

Continuing the 'turbo' theme, these models were christened the Turbolite.

The standard model was model U4527...

The very budget cleaner! with tools - U4529

The 'other' Turbolite was model U4529.

This model was identical to the U4527, appearing in the same colours of Oyster White and Midnight Grey, but was sold complete with a boxed set of tools...

TOP OF THE RANGE! - Turbomaster

The 'turbo' replacement for the Hoover Ranger appeared in 1987, the new models being christened Turbomaster.

The range was developed over the period 1987 to 1988 to comprise:

1x soft bag basic model
1x hard bag basic model
1x hard bag model with variable speed control
1x hard bag model with on board tools
1x hard bag model with on board tools + variable speed control
&
1x exclusive model with on board tools for the electricity board

The 1987 original range comprised of the first three variants, with the three Total Systems coming on the scene in 1988.

The year 1991 saw the final variant introduced, in the form of the Freedom model.

Here we go!

U5078 Turbomaster (hard bag)

The next model up (U5078) boasted the hard bag case arrangement and appeared in, despite what the photos appear to show, the same colour as the soft bag U4362 - Classic Blue Grey and Classic Blue Grey Shadow...
