HOOVER had strict security as well.
They simply don't want people taking shots of their facility, machinery, etc. It COULD end up in the wrong hands. They also don't want new designs, prototypes, etc "out there". Yes, it WAS brought up that a skilled vac person could buy a Kirby and completely tear it down and rebuildit.
However, Kirby said "No photos" and no photos were taken.

Jeff, they didn't want us taking pictures in 2008, some members did and posted them on the forum and Kirby seen them , and they were very annoyed about that, the board said that they were very serious this time about us not taking pictures. Also, I was talking to one of the employes and they said that they had to "clean" up the factory, anything pertaining to the new model had to be put away, we went into the bag making department, and I was looking for any type of new material pattern for the new model, but there was nothing there. They welcomed us with open arms, gave us all kind of gifts, served a fantastic lunch, it is amazing to see there is still an American product that is built with such pride, any employee you talk to has been there for many years and has nothing but good things to say about their job.
