Has anyone seen the infomercial for the Perfect Vacuum?
It was pretty impressive with the 130 water lift, comes with electric hose and extra 30 ft hose. They show it going down a flight of stairs with no damage to the metal machine or the walls with the all around bumpers. Did anyone get the web address?
Tania and I saw it at a vacuum store. It LOOKS well made and very sturdy. It could be an Electrolux 1205 if you just get a glance. The infomercial says it is 3 payments of $199.00 and you get extra hepa bags, extra long hose and metal expandable wands and floor brush. It did not have the automatic shut off like the old Electrlux. Does anyone know what the correct web site address is for the company? I just caught the last of the infomercial.

Hey Rob, I have been interested in these ever since they came out a couple years ago. I would love to here someones review that has one.

I've owned one since May 2008

Joe,
You are absolutely right, it is a clone of the Diamond Jubilee, marquis, ultralux a.k.a model 1521. The main difference is that it does not have a full bag indicator adjustment dial. It still retains the bag lock out switch though.

In regards to performance, this thing is a beast!! I don't think you will find another vac out there that can compete, in fact, it eats many built ins for breakfast, and regurgitates them for lunch. At the hose end, with mine I get close to 117 inches of lift, most regular lux vacs will pull around 80. In regards to airflow, at hose end, I'm getting 9-9.5 with the baird airflow meter. Most later model lux's will achieve 5.5-6.5. (not counting the newer more powerful motor that was released this spring which will achieve upto 8.5 with the noise muffler removed. In regards to built ins, I have measured anywhere from 80-104 lift at the end of a 30-35 foot hose. I've also recorded airflow from 1.5-6.0 at hose end.

Cordwinder is similar to the old lux. But, I have been informed that this has changed to a winder that is similar in design to Miele, in order to allow for infinite adjustments. Only comes with a 17 gauge cord. 18 gauge is rated for 10 amps, 16 gauge is rated for 13 amps. So a 17 will do about 11.5-12?? I bought a lux cord (16 gauge) for mine as the motor draws close to 12 amps alone.

PN basically a PN5 with the newer motor. They have made some upgrades here. The later models, the motor sits in a position that really does not allow a lot of (if any) belt tension adjustments. If you do make adjustments, the plastic spike that is used for support right under where the drive shaft comes out, will not be making any contact. The belt tension on this newer version is quite slack in my opinion compared to the lux set ups. I also found the oem brush roll to be too stiff, and tended to cause a rumbling sound. I tried an oem lux brush, same thing (although much softer bristles), a cleveland woods brush was just like baby bears porridge.

Noise level, similar to others, around 75 dBA.

Bags, hepa, work great, use them in my lux's as well. Only thing here is the bag collar is 1.5 times thicker than the usual lux bag. After using these hepa, I will never go back to paper in any lux application again.

Front wheel, rubber coated, but had to be replaced as it wouldn't turn properly.

Fit and finish, not quite as good as the old lux's were, but hey, it's from China, what do you expect??

Would I buy one again?? YUPPERS!!

If you're looking for a retro style vacuum, that's simple to operate, probably durable (although time will tell on this one) and has the power to pull a wall down, this is it.

Any questions, just ask and I'll try to answer the best I can

I heard Perfect was from china which I find funny with the Stars and Stripes as logo ,but so is most things now days.I was wondering who makes the motor? Is it a Lamb motor or a one from china? To pull that kind of suction and flow is very impressive,I dont know if my aunts Purevac with the Domel motors in it could do that at hose end and hers is the dual motor 240 Volt ..I might haved to get me one

Perfect Vacuum Motor by Lamb

The Perfect Vacuum Motor is made by Lamb. It is their "Advantek" series motors. The difference being with this motor is that the carbon brushes come right after the fan unit, as compared to the usual set up where we have the fan, the field (coil), and then the carbon brushes. Hope this helps.

Vernon

Vernon,

That's interesting. I haven't seen a motor set up like that. Is it a two stage? How about the fan(s)? Are they standard or that (don't know what to call it) type where the center of the fan is thicker and it tapers back to the edge becoming thinner?

Rick

2 Stage motor, conical shaped fans

Rick,

It is a two stage motor with conical shaped fans (where the center sticks out).

The guys at perfect did tell me the model number, but I would have to go looking for it as I do believe I have the spec sheet some place. If you're interested let me know.

Vernon

No, don't go to any trouble. I was just trying to picture it in my head. Thanks for the really detailed information! And thanks for telling me the term of the shape of the fans.

I took apart my Rigid shop vac once to see the size of that huge motor because it had so much suction. Imagine my surprise when I found a little motor, one fan, but it was conical. Really makes a difference.

Rick

santa are you listening?

i want one, but i want a blue lux guardian, and the new guardian ultra too.

All of the suppliers that I use tell me they are a huge hit!! And the last I checked we could get them for I think 499.99 plush shipping or it might have been a little cheaper. I can't remember but I will look at my book and see. I really want one too but don't need it.

I went to the Perfect Website and saw the brief video of the machine. To me they look the same as a Lux Diamond Jubilee, with the color of a Silverado. I spoke on the telephone regarding the price and it's 3 payments of $199.00 so it would be about $600.00 plus shipping. What I can't figure out, is why the 30 foot long hose? It seems like the longer the hose the vac would tend to lose suction. I wouldn't mind having one of those either, they look like they'd be really good, I wouldn't mind taking one apart just to see the different motor.
