I'm dying to know, how well does it clean? I have a Diamond Jubilee and had an UltraLux. The 1521's are some of my favorite machines so Im curious to know how well they clean with a more powerful motor (I always thought they could have used just a little bit more power anyway) That brush roll looks nice too, I just replaced the brush in my Epic 6000 with a genuine Lux roll and its been improved over the older brushes but the Perfect brush roll definetly has many more bristles. Im sure that Perfect power nozzle grooms the carpet nicely, i cant wait to hear about your experience with it!
Personaly, if I want my Electrolux to have more power, I'll put in a bigger motor myself and not buy a replica. The PN has .4 amps less then the original PN5, PN6, and PN7 so I'd stick to the original as far as those go too.
Those are just my thoughts. If you get the impression that I'm not too impressed then you would be right. I'm sure many of you will disagree and thats fine with me.

I would love to have some of those new style bags...if they are anything like the Miele, Kirby, Hoover Constellation, or Oreck bags....they would be well worth the price.

Try purchasing Endust Filtration Hepa Bags for your Lux, they work quite well, a little pricey though.

If you're thinking of putting a more powerful motor in your Lux, it's a good/bad idea. If your lux has the motor thermostat, you'll have to be careful if the newer motor draws more amps, as it most likely will trip the thermostat. I know guys who have tried it and that's what has happened. Maybe try without the thermostat?? Just a thought.

The whole Lux motor replacement is more of an idea than anything I plan to try. I think the original motors are quite good in terms of performace so I'd stick to the original motor. If for some reason I needed more power I'd go and figure a way to do it myself without getting a replica.
A new motor, a few drill holes, and a few wire connectors and anyone can have 120 inches of lift.

I have a feeling that the Perfect HEPA bags might be at least somewhat detrimental to Luxes. Hear me out.
A HEPA bag is much finer than a regular one, making the vac's motor work harder. Perfect has gone to some trouble to upgrade the suction over that found in Luxes, and I think there's a reason for that- the extra oomph is needed to overcome the increased resistance of a HEPA bag.
I'm thinking that use of Perfect HEPA bags in Luxes might overwork the Luxes' motors, promoting wear.
Any opinions here?

I would have to disagree with Hepa bags being detrimental only because using the new Hepa style Air-Tec bags in any and all of my Air-Ways increases the air flow significantly.
Some here have also taken one of the Kirby Filtrete type bags cut, sewed it to make a type C bag for a Hoover Convertable and it also increased air flow and cleaning performance.
The Hepa bags actually may be a finer webbed design, but it is done in such a way that allows for more service area that is not clogged thus not restricting air flow. Even Oreck now has a great bag that is also is charcol lined preventing many oders.
I have completely filled an Air-Tec bag in my new Air-Way, plaster dust, fine sawdust and construction dust, same with the Miele, while cleaning at the church after the restoration, and there was no noticable reduction in air flow.
Just my opinion, but I think it would greatly increase bag life and possibly air flow even in older Lux models. If so, it would also keep the motors cooler as air flow would not be deminished. I am willing to give it a try. Not sure however what effect it may have on the full bag mechanism on the machines.

the Filtrete/hepa type bags have a filtration surface that is unlike a perfectly flat piece of filter paper. it doesnt clog like a simple paper bag does. its more cloth-like than paper-like.
I've use filtrete and microlined type bags in many cleaners and they improved airflow in every machine.

Wanted to get back and answer your question of, how does it work? I had a chance to vacuum level 2, about 2000 sq ft of carpet less the tile in the bathrooms, with the Perfect yesterday. It does a great job grooming the carpet and the powerhead has such a low profile that it makes getting under things like dressers, etc. very easy. I took some more of it apart the other day too, and it is a dead knock off of the silverado deluxe that I have. I have no doubt this will be a durable machine just as the original was.

Andrew, thanks so much for all of the excellent pictures. I think this is a machine that many of us have been wanting to know more about. Just wondering how long is the hose? I always thought that Electrolux should have had longer ones. From what I read in my VDTA magazine this machine really caused quite a stir at the trade show in Las Vegas this year. It is also my understanding that they have an upright model.
