Perfect C105B Cordless Canister - MFG Date from Serial Number?

Hey y'all, been a while since I was on Vacuumland. Hope everyone's doing well.

Anyways, came across this little battery powered Perfect canister cheap on eBay and picked it up on a whim (I like full-size cordless machines). My first impressions are that the Perfect's a little on the heavy side due to the battery (bathroom scale says ~13 lbs), but a good hard floor cleaner regardless. Looking forward to cleaning the car with this one.

Weirdly enough, there's zero mention of this model on the internet, just the equivalent Bissell Big Green Commerical BCG3000B version.

If anyone's familiar with Perfect vacuum serial numbers, do you know if it's possible to figure out the date this machine was manufactured? This particular vacuum's serial is #1908000060, which makes me think:

[19] - 2019
[08] - August
[000060] - 60th machine off the line

Would love to get some more insight on this vacuum. Thank you!

Can’t help you with the serial number, but I’m extremely curious as to how you like the lindhaus cordless pictured? I’ve been toying with the idea for awhile now.

I wouldn't say the Perfect is crazy loud, but definitely nosier than a modern straight-suction Miele or SEBO. I'd put it on the same level as my Royal Power Tank.

From a vacuum collector's perspective, the Valzer L-Ion's definitely a cool machine. Closest point of comparison would be my SEBO Felix, but the Lindhaus is much easier to work with since it doesn't have a cord. In fact, you could think of it like a 75% capable Felix that's much better for quick pickups.

While the Lindhaus is definitely a well-made vacuum with a great runtime, I can't recommend without a few caveats. Biggest issue is that the M30e powerhead's brush chamber is just too large for the level of suction the vacuum puts out, especially since you're limited to low speed with the brushroll on and medium with the brushroll off. The agitation can do most of the heavy lifting if you're on carpet, but the vacuum struggles to pick stuff up if you're cleaning hard floors with the brushroll shut off.

With the M29R combo nozzle attached, this vacuum actually starts to shine now that it has a more focused airpath. The Lindhaus can usually suck anything up in one pass on hard floors, and the spring-loaded brush/squeegee design means it can lift surface debris off carpets relatively well. It's even become my main carpeted stairs vacuum. Unless you're having to clean under couches and beds super often, this could fill the same role as a straight suction canister for a lot of people.

The short hose makes the vacuum a little tip-heavy, but you learn to adapt to it pretty quickly. I barely notice unless I'm trying to clean an entire couch or something big like that. Neither the Lindhaus nor Perfect have the power to drive a Wessel-Werk PT160 turbo tool, though it's still sufficient for most other kinds of attachments.

At the end of the day, it's not the corded vacuum killer some people wanted it to be. I think the average person would be better off with the Hoover ONEPWR HEPA upright and a corded canister given the high price of the Lindhaus. I don't know if it's worth the $1500 online MSRP, but this vacuum's worth considering if you can find it around ~$1000.
