It seems that that most of the major manufactures have updated their bag/filter/belt packaging recently, which I completely understand. Both Hoover and Eureka were using decade old designs and I'm sure others were similar. However, their new designs are so much worse than their last, especially Hoover. They went from attractive blue bags that clearly showed the machine the bags were fit for, to bland white bags. Eureka and DirtDevil bags are about as worse.
To show the significant difference, look at the picture on the right of the bag asile at an Ace Hardware. Most of the Hoover bags are the new design, but they still have some older ones. Notice how the older bags show the model the bag is used for, a nice big Hoover logo, and the bag letter in bold red. The news ones are simply a picture of a white bag and the Hoover logo. The bag type letter is printed in white, which looks much cheaper than before. So much worse in my opinion.
The picture on the left I believe was taken in the late 1990s. These shows even older bag designs, which look even better than the 2000s bags! If you look closely you can even see that the actual Hoover disposable bags have HOOVER printed all of them. The Eureka bags have a clear picture of the model the bag is designed for, plus an attractive font for the bag letter.
So why is it these manufactures keep downgrading their packaging? Is it because there is less demand because of all the bagless models? Is the same thing going on in other countries? I'd love to hear your ideas and comments.
