Panasonic 40, 50 and 500 series

Here are a few snaps of my Panasonic's. My fav vacs of the 80's/90's. We had an MC-E44 growing up and it lasted 14 years with 4 kids and 3 cats. Anyway...here are the family.

Did or do you have any Pana's with headlights? I heve a thing for lights and buttons lol. I wish our Panasonic's had the variable speeds like yours. I think we did hvae a model or to but those were sold at usualy at specialty shops and were expensive. I remember the local vac store had a model with the lever to stop the brush and a dirt sensor but no vari-speed and it was U.S.$400.00 Sears had the same under the Kenmore name for about $250.00

I had an MC-E43

It had the twin bulb headlamp, which as it turned out, was a load of rubbish because the vibration of the machine caused the screw-in bulbs to become loose.

There was another problem with the MC-E40 Series of machines.

The machines allowed hair and fluff to access the motor cavity, but not through the bag chamber. Instead, the dust got drawn into the motor cavity via the rear wheel axle. This axle had no sealing around it, so fluff could migrate into the motor area. The fluff then got captured by the motor diffuser filter, which was just a small piece of foam glued permanently into place within the motor hood.

I also thought that they were terrible for removing deeply embedded grit. Hoovers beat them hands down.

The ones we had wer not all great at deep cleaning, I think the head was to light,The ones with the metal brushroll were a little better.
