Owners with Multiple vacuum... is there a goto one?

Subject says it all. Just curious, many of you guys are collectors and have several (ok.. a ton) of vacuums to choose from for your cleaning duties.

What is your vacuum of choice? The first one you normally reach for? If the first choice is the phone to call the housekeeper/maid and they uses your vacuums, then which one do they grab?

I know if I had 5/10/20/40+ vacuums, I would have a hard time deciding which one to actually use for cleaning and day to day life.

Here are the 4 I use most often
Sebo X2-Good on carpet, bad on bare floors, average hose
Riccar 8900-Good on carpet and bare floors, no hose
Dyson DC14-Bad on carpet, good on bare floors, good hose
Hoover Power Drive-Good on carpet, bad on bare floors, average hose.

I have six luxes. With my new platinum I use it the most. The my second choose is my late 50s Lux AF.

must be in the 20s the # of vacs. Tough house to clean, many different surfaces. I grab either Miele, always frustrates me but works well, Dyson 39 animal, Silverado, or deep cleaning Concept 1.Though Silverado does pretty deep to me it seems also.First grab is prob Hoover LiNX but that is just because of long haired cat.

Of the 12 Hoover models I own, my go-to cleaner is my Guardsman C1631 commercial upright. Besides being very durable and convenient to use, it does a stellar job of deep-cleaning my carpet. Unlike many older direct-air designs, it also has surprisingly good hose suction, which is a major help in above-the-floor cleaning. Even my once-a-month cleaning lady (who also is a major Hoover fan, and knows how to properly use and maintain vacuum cleaners) absolutely loves it. In fact, she's about the first non-collector who I've ever seen get excited about using it!


Here it is in all its resplendent beauty, despite having seen nearly 11 years of regular housecleaning.

I have about 50 vacuums and I've been using my dyson dc08t turbine head for the past few weeks. Before that I used my dyson dc04, so I generally use dysons.

I have lost count of the number of vacuums I have now, I'm sure I'm pushing if not surpassed 100, but I have three main go-to vacs and I really like any of the three for cleaning my house, it all just depends on the mood I'm in. Probably the first one I would reach for would be my Electrolux Silverado, I have the full set of attachments for it so it's good on any surface, the PN5 power nozzle could do a little better job grooming the carpet, but it does a decent enough job for me! My next one (which may soon replace my silverado) is my Rainbow D4C SE. I just bought this machine, but I am extremely impressed at how well it performs, it's almost sickening at the amount of "junk" I find in the water basin after a cleaning! Last but certainly not least, I have a Kirby G5 and a full set of attachments. I don't use it as often simply because I'm rather lazy when it comes to breaking it down and using it on all surfaces in the home. When I use it, it's mainly to groom the carpet because I do like the self-propelled action of it! Just guessing I would say 90% of my collection is Electrolux so those tend to be my main go-to machines and I'm hoping to get my hands on a new Aerus Platinum soon so we'll see if the daily driver changes then or not!

My DC04 Dyson with round brushroll is the BEST vacuum that does any task has a large bin and good filtration system too + the motors on these are tough and last decades like the DC01

My Tristar EXL A101. It gets the most use out of any of my vacs. Easy cleaning, amazing filtration, and tremendous suction and airflow.

I have about 12 vacuums to choose from in my house. My goto machine is my Hoover PowerMax Supreme canister. It excels at cleaning all surfaces. The power nozzle is extremely powerful and lifts the nap leaving behind a gorgeously groomed rug that is virtually picture perfect. All 4 attachments store on board, it has a decent 25' cord. There is no task this machine can't handle. If I'm going to shampoo carpets and want the carpets to have an excellent deep cleaning the Hoover PowerMax canister is the one I grab.

In my opinion based on how carpet is groomed and looks, the Hoover runs circles around our Kirby G4. The Kirby is in excellent repair, with brushroll properly adjusted, new belt etc. I just feel the house is cleaner with the Hoover.

Back in the good old days,

Back in my house in Naperville, Illinois I had an Electrolux central vac installed, and even though it had the power nozzle, I bought a Kirby G-4 from my former boss and Kirby distributor Will (Willbure) Hart. Then I sold the house in 1995, and moved to San Diego. Once there I had the central vac hooked up, and for deep cleaning there was the G-4. But, for the kitchen and bathrooms, I used my Regina Electrikbroom, circa 1945, and to wash those floors, I used my Hoover floor washer. As my carpet was brand new, I had no need for the Rug Renovator, or my Electrolux Eppic polisher/shampooer.

When I wanted to play, and not really clean, I hauled out my Electrolux LX. I also used it for general dusting.

As for my non electric machines, they were now in the living room, and dining room. But the Electrolux LX was given the place of honor in the master bedroom, atop my entertainment center.

I just have to comment on your dining room photo. It looks like a great house. Window seats are unheard of here in Arizona, even in the real upper class suburbs. I can only imagine what it would be like to lay down with a good book there.
