Outrageous Shipping Costs

stay away from it. The seller is new and the shipping is way to high and I could not see a picture. That might be because my internet is slow though. I NEVER EVER bid on something when the seller has 0 feedback. I hate to be that way but I have been burned to many times.

I think in this case, the shipping costs are worked out automatically by eBay's shipping calculator, because I get 'To United Kingdom -- Not specified'.

Many times, I've seen sellers writing 'please contact me for shipping costs, eBay's estimates are way too high' - so perhaps it's not the seller's fault, but eBay's?

There doesn't seem to be a picture, though. I'd never suggest bidding on an auction which doesn't include a picture, simply because an estimate of condition is always going to be subjective; 'Slightly used but works great' could mean anything.

Oh, I know...I don't particularly want a new vacuum, as I mainly collect vacuums made prior to 1980 or so. The antique ones, however, are probably my favorite.

My Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80 had a shipping cost of $60 or $70, if I recall. Luckily, it wasn't far from my friend in Georgia, so he was able to pick it up. That was why I was able to get it for only a few dollars!

Just pointing this one out, though!
