Anyone know if there's a zipper bag available that will fit older Hoovers with a round outlet? I have converted my 725 and 28 to take F&G type bags, but it is a pain to change without a zippered outer bag. Would Hoover part HR-1225/701 work? I can't tell from available pics if it has a round or oval opening. If so, anyone have one for sale? This part seems to be discontinued recently.
Thanks!

Sorry, seems you might to be abou 40 years late

Hello jbellafesta,
You are going to have to look for a new old stock and possibly a Vac Shop the has been in business for a long time. Some might recommend using only the original shake out bag. But these Zip Units kept the dust and dirt from getting all over the place without having to shake a dirty bag. The one in the pictures still has good vinyl material at the bag ring with is what gave out and got holes in them.
Please know that Hoover never made these Zip Units for the older large round bag rings.
Good Luck

I may be able to help you, Jesse

Part of my vacuum hobby is making reproduction bags, particularly for old Hoovers. I happen to have one ready to go that may just fit your bill. It can be used with either a Hoover C-bag, or a Eureka F&G. You would have to supply your own bag ring. It comes with a concealed wood dowel and hanging spring at the top. Alternately, you could install your own metal top clamp over the dowel.

If this bag is not quite what you have in mind, I'd be happy to discuss other styles and graphics.

Sincerely,

Marty Kaplan

Good to know

That is a good looking bag Marty. Seems to be labor a intensive project. One would think anyone using a late 30s and early 40s Hoover with the large round bag ring as their primary vacuum would want one.
