Ha, the hair on the back of my neck stands up everytime i see one of these Model XXX's.
An elderly widower older guy neighbor of ours when i was a kid, had one of these he kept in his garage to clean out his car with. (the car was a late 60s Chevy beast of some kind)
He had a Hoover Convertible, and a blue lux model G for inside the house.,,i checked one time! Was a big deal to me to know who had what kind of vacuum.
Anyway, there was some sort of a short in the electrical connection or system of that model XXX in that garage and every metal surface on it (which is pretty much the whole vac) was elecrified!,,except the carrying strap (which was broken off missing on his) hose handle and the attachments.
I found this out the hard way!
He saw me outside one day and asked if id like to earn some money cleaning out his car, and washing and waxing the exterior.
Not being one to turn down money for running a vacuum, i gladly said yes.
After plugging in and turning on that model XXX, i went to lift it grabbing it up from underneath, and got the SHOCK of my life! I was just a kid, so it knocked me down as i threw the machine forward to get rid of it.
Sorry but, ive NEVER trusted an old all metal Electrolux (of that vintage) again!
