I picked up this D50 at my local vacuum shop for $10.00. It is in pretty original condition except the emptor was replaced with f/g disposable style. What is the general thought on the decal ? Leave it be or remove ? The plastic Sanitronic emblem is perfect underneath...thanks

Hey

Ben I love your belt lifter or magic finger. I have one on my carpet fluffier or whatever it's called before rug rennovater.
Jack your belt lifter is mint and don't touch that sticker. That's how they came from kirby (Ben let me in on this). Ben is a kirby and royal vacuum encyclopedia. He is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Again Ben Im green with envy beautiful polish job too.

The D50 belt lifter logo is actually a thin cardboard piece under a clear plastic lens. The magic finger label was applied to the surface of the lens.
If I were you I would buy a new or good pre-owned lens and swap them. That way you can put the decrepit MF label away for historical safe-keeping and then admire the beauty of the starburst logo underneath the lens.

I think it's really a matter of personal opinion. On the one hand, it's an original sticker that adds to its original...ness. On the other hand, it's an ugly sticker that covers a pretty emblem.

You could always remake the sticker, I suppose. Photoshop ftw.
