Hello.

Today I received an XL7 as a gift for my collection. The only thing is the outer cloth bag in grey with the black trim is filthy inside, I'm guessing no bag or bag installed incorrectly then used. Should i just vac it out with a dusting brush or can I wash it out to really clean it up?

I don't really want to have to buy a new outer bag.

Any help much appreciated. Many thanks.

Oreck themselves used to say that their outer bags were washable, as long as you can remove the bottom clip with the name plate on it, if applicable. I think there's a spring or something that keeps it attached to the main spine.

I don't see why it can't be washed in a machine though I'd remove the name plate first if you can. Choose a low temp program and put it in.

Also, forgot to say, check that the bag can actually be removed completely - this might take some time if the bag housing is behind it. If it is bonded on, then you may well just have to sponge clean the bag rather than machine washable.

Id have assumed the XL7 has a far easier bag to remove off the vacuum cleaner as it is far more modern than the XL I used to own.

Thank you SEBO FAN. much appreciated. Once removed will just wash lightly until clean. There is a plate at the bottom attached to the spring clip it reads EXTENDED LIFE, I have no idea what it refers too. The motor the bags or the belt lol.

May post some pics one day.
