Today, I stated a project on my Oreck. It's a newer model, but it has some issues. One issue is that it won't stand up without falling down. Another issue is that suction is very weak. And another issue is that I don't have an outer bag for it. Right now I have it almost completely disassembled. Does anyone know whee I can get an outer bag for it? I really need it and I would like to start vacuuming with it soon. Even though I have three other Orecks, I don't want to salvage any of them for parts for the one I'm working on. Does anyone know how to fix the problem with it standing up properly? Anything that can help me fix it is appreciated. Thanks!

I think there is a notch on the outside of the fan chamber that clicks into the base to keep the cleaner upright. It's like a large rib. You can hear it click when you put the machine in an upright position. I would remove the fan chamber and inspect it for any damage.

To my surprise, I can not find an exact match outer bag for your model! Do you have an Oreck Store near by? They could have some NOS to help you out.

There is a couple Oreck stores near my home, I saw a bag on ebay that was exactly the one I needed, but sadly the listing ended before I could react and get it. The closest oreck store to me is a half hour away. I fixed the part with it standing up, but I still need a bag and all the back docking stuff

There is indeed a notch,

Having serviced many Orecks, I know there's a plastic protrusion from the bottom of the fan chamber, which "clicks" into place when it slides up a metal ramp on the bottom plate of the cleaner. You'd also want to inspect the fan Chamber itself for damages, I see this all the time on Orecks. Be sure that metal ramp is not missing, (I cannot tell, for the bottom plate pictured above is upside-down). I'd doubt the plastic protrusion has worn out, Unless someone has been using this vacuum for the past 50 Billion Years

All joking aside, The fan chamber is likely "off-set", Be sure (Upon Reassembly) That the fan chamber is properly mounted onto the metal guard of the motor, and that both both the motor and suction reflector are tighten down snugly and even. If that metal plate is missing, I'm certian I have a couple around here somewhere,

Oreck 3120

Super-sweeper, this vacuum before it was mine was most likely used everyday, my grandparents had it and they have at least 6 different vacuums in their house, this was one of them. Within the last couple years, they went through three Orecks, one of which was a 3700 model and a 40th anniversary edition which were both thrown out. One day when I went to their house, this vacuum was in the trash and luckily I saved it before it could perish with other thrown out vacuums. The one part I am still missing is the bag assembly and outer bag.
