Definitely go and test it out! We have sold quite a few with no unhappy returns in any of our seven stores in this area, in fact, I did kind of a survey not many days ago and that's what I found. It's powerful, quiet, hepa filter, variable motor control, and what I think is a too short of hose, 6ft. I believe. The powernozzle is very Hooverish, which is no suprise, it's production is out of China, probably the same company that makes the Hoover Anniversary Windtunnel canister. It does not have a geared belt, which suprised me a little. Our Dutchtech models were around quite a few years, which I've seen here on the forum, was believed to be built in Holland? It's later models had a Wessel-Werk powernozzle and it kicked butt. I've seen quite a few for cordwinder issues, but usually because the owners have yanked the cord and left half the plug in the wall socket, and we do not do replacement plugs. So if the customer does not want to replace the plug, we put a whole new cord/winder assembly in. There was a series of canisters before them, model 1500 is the one I have, and it has the big-foot power nozzle. It's a big bodied machine, similar to the Hoover Dimension. It seems to be a fairly decent vacuum, although like pulling a cocktail table around behind you, even with the 10 ft. hose. There's no setup for tools on board, so a clip on wand type setup is what I have. These are a little rare I think, in the six years plus I've worked at Oreck, have never seen one come in for anything. Brian, Oreck has the 30 day return policy, if you think you might like the Quest Pro, try it for 30 days and return it if you're disappointed. Like Papa Oreck says, "try it for 30 days, and if you don't love it, don't keep it!"
