Dutchtech?

I thought the Dutch tech canister had been around for a while? I've seen some collectors have an older canister with a "big foot" PN

First you'll probably notice the shape is obviously a copy of the Miele S4.

Here's what I noticed:

-The suction was alright
-Noise level was alright
-Build quality was so and so
-Runs HOT
-Poorly designed and difficult to use tools
-Fussy tool lid
-PN did a poor job of picking up simulated pet hair

IMO it's just a cheap Chinese copy of another (much better) product. Think of a Mercedes S-Class vs a Hyundai Equus, the real thing is just better on every level.

Definitely go and test it out! We have sold quite a few with no unhappy returns in any of our seven stores in this area, in fact, I did kind of a survey not many days ago and that's what I found. It's powerful, quiet, hepa filter, variable motor control, and what I think is a too short of hose, 6ft. I believe. The powernozzle is very Hooverish, which is no suprise, it's production is out of China, probably the same company that makes the Hoover Anniversary Windtunnel canister. It does not have a geared belt, which suprised me a little. Our Dutchtech models were around quite a few years, which I've seen here on the forum, was believed to be built in Holland? It's later models had a Wessel-Werk powernozzle and it kicked butt. I've seen quite a few for cordwinder issues, but usually because the owners have yanked the cord and left half the plug in the wall socket, and we do not do replacement plugs. So if the customer does not want to replace the plug, we put a whole new cord/winder assembly in. There was a series of canisters before them, model 1500 is the one I have, and it has the big-foot power nozzle. It's a big bodied machine, similar to the Hoover Dimension. It seems to be a fairly decent vacuum, although like pulling a cocktail table around behind you, even with the 10 ft. hose. There's no setup for tools on board, so a clip on wand type setup is what I have. These are a little rare I think, in the six years plus I've worked at Oreck, have never seen one come in for anything. Brian, Oreck has the 30 day return policy, if you think you might like the Quest Pro, try it for 30 days and return it if you're disappointed. Like Papa Oreck says, "try it for 30 days, and if you don't love it, don't keep it!"

I stopped at the local Oreck store and wasn't impressed...I really don't need another vacuum cleaner but was suprised to see a full size Oreck canister...I fulfilled my curiosity...Thanks everyone for your input...

I would be willing to bet TTI is building this for Oreck....or it is being made by Suzhou EUP Electric in China, & TTI & Oreck are outsourcing all three canisters out to them. Notice the hose is EXACTLY IDENTICAL to what the Hoover Windtunnel Anniversary Edition uses, & if you look on the Oreck website, & look at the pics, the tools are also the same that the Hoover & Royal Lexon S20 uses. And even the filter looks like it's probably shared by all three canisters, too.

Another interesting thing to note, is that the PN is a former Hoover design, which was an experimental prototype that was never used. I have seen it before, as Dave Bychowsky in my group Vacuum Collectors Club, has one that he owns & posted a pic of it on there. I will see if I can find it & post it here later for all to see.

Considering this is more money than the Hoover Windtunnel Anniversary Edition, & the Hoover is easier to obtain in most retail stores...I would just buy the Hoover over this. I have one of these Hoover canisters I was lucky enough to pick up second-hand, & am very pleased with it for what it is. It may not be as good as my Mieles, but comes awfully close & the old saying "You get what you pay for" applies here. It's a Made In China copy, you can't expect it to equal a Miele exactly.
