I just built an Oreck power nozzle like people were suggesting. Extremely easy to convert it. Although it is very cool, two motors running at the same time is very loud. Plus my Miracle Mate is 10 amps, and 14amps is WAY too much to use at once. It cleaned alright, but a regular power-nozzle would clean about the same. If you don't have a power-nozzle canister, but have an Oreck, this would be great to clean carpets.

One nice thing about it was I could hear air-flow from the 'nozzle'. Very rare with an Oreck. Made me remember how weak Orecks are.

I know Air-Way already did this, but if someone built a Sanitaire power-nozzle, I doubt I could ever find a better cleaning machine.

I made by removing the cord and tube/bag/handle assembly and putting the canister's wand into the fan chamber where the regular tube connects. So you have to plug both vacuums in separately

Here is a picture with it installed on the Miracle Mate, a vacuum that normally uses a regular power-nozzle. Sorry for the fuzzy picture, my camcorder is not good a pictures

Magic Blue

Here it is with my Kenmore Magic Blue. I could not have used a power-nozzle with this if I wanted to. If you guys had suggested this idea two weeks ago I could have saved $200 by not buying the Miracle Mate! I love that vacuum anyway, so it's alright.

Almost the same combination I did! But my Oreck had a headlight, and I used my CXL. What I did was completely rewired the cord and made it into a power nozzle plug though. So it was like an actual power nozzle. I think I might get a junk Oreck and do that again..

That would be very cool with headlights. I'd rather have it plug in normally as then I can use it with anything. I just tried using a Buster B with the Oreck, and it fits! Maybe a should get a Portapower and use it as my daily vac.
