Ever since I noticed them, I wanted one. As of today, I own 3. All 3 are DTX 1400's.
First was a super trashed parts vac given to me free with only the hose, no attachments, dead circuit board and one wheel missing. This one I opened up and fiddled with the circuit board (then removed it). Got stored. Replaced the wheel, 2 of 3 attachments and it is just a straight suction unit.
Second was a gift from a friend, had everything except the attachments. The same day I bought them at an Oreck store for very little. Cleaned, tried out and put with collection.
3rd, sold to me by a man who said the power nozzle did not work. All I could figure out was the hose connecting tube was out of round. So it did not attach securely. Now it works fine.
I love that it is very quiet and yet very strong.
If Oreck stops selling bags, Philips Oslo bags are identical. My units resemble the Philips TC739.
I want a non-electric hose for Vac#1. I rewired the vac. to run without the circuit board and power to the nozzle. I still may restore power to the hose.
Thanks for reading.
