I have posted this before but in the spring, it's time to clean the blinds and it is a job I used to hate. With the Rexair the job becomes a piece of cake. It is fast, easy and the blinds do not need to be removed from the windows.
I want to share it again on Vacuumland so if we have a new Rainbow owner, you will LOVE this method.
Here are the steps:
(1) Use dusting brush and DRY dust the blinds first
(2) Using the Rainbow sprayer filled with HOT water and cleaner (Spic & Span)
start at the top and move downward (hose in exhaust port).
(3) Let it sit for about 5 minutes
(4) Using the dust brush and wands ONLY, lightly scrub the blinds to
loosen the dirt and grease.
(5) Use Hot water only and spray blinds to rinse dirt and grime. Work from top to
bottom.
(6) Now insert the hose into the suction end and using the crevice tool go over
the blind to remove and dry the blind
(7) Use the Rainbow squeegee on the window to clean and dry and remaining water
DONE! No mess and such a small use of water.
Advantages: It takes so little time. I did the blinds and window for my sliding glass door in less than 20 minutes and NOTHING to clean up. Just empty your water basin.
Added plus is that it cleans your hose, wands and tools with the hot water and cleaning solution.
I have had my Rainbow for 8 years next month. It is heavy but I like it. The BEST part is Never any HINT of dust or worse the smell from a dirty vacuum. No repairs in 8 years and I use mine to clean the screened porch, garage floor, clean a huge church building several times a year and last year used it to clean the mold off the siding on the house.
I know it is a little more work to use but do we:
(1) save dirty dish washing water
(2) save dirty water when we wash our clothes
(3) save dirty water we bath in
(4) save our trash and store it from week to week in a closet
It made sense to me to start with a fresh new cleaner every time and
of course no bags, no filters and bins to empty.
It DOES have a Hepa filter but it has only been replaced one time in 8 years
