Spectacular cleaner and wonderful back story! Is that the actual one that belonged to your parents?
I know that you appreciate minutiae, so here's an observation and theory: it seems to me that 'tan' is more descriptive of the contemporaneous Model L's paint color; and the Model G's was more of a metallic 'bronze' or 'light bronze' as others have called it (compared to the perceived 'dark bronze' of the Olympia One according to spray paint). Btw, the 1205 is also metallic compared its contemporaneous Model L; although I have seen both paints used on B-8s (attached photo).
Anyway, that Model G is one of my favorites, too, because it was one that was left in a house I directly purchased along with a Model R. My search for an exhaust diffuser and replacement pn wand is what brought me to VL in 2012 and began my general interest in vacuum cleaners. Interestingly, the elderly couple who had sold me the house used the Model R on their main level and the Model G in their basement likely due to its tougher condition.
Our agreement of them collectively selling me the belongings they no longer needed and my lack of household items having lived in apartments until that time was mutually beneficial. The house was built in 1966, so I took for granted that the Model G was purchased at that time; as they had only kept the Model R owners manual but not the Model G's. I wish I would have had more of a specific rather than general vintage interest in them at the time, to motivate my inquiry. As it is, it took several years before I went through a time of organizing all the appliance and outdoor equipment manuals at the house and organizing a maintenance schedule from them; which prompted my research into each, including the Electroluxes. Incidentally, the house's original coppertone G-E stove and similar-colored Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer (since relocated to the garage) were also still in use after over 40 years; albeit the Frigidaire was then only in use occasionally.
Continued Happy Electroluxing!
