An E-Bay find...a Hoover Celebrity QS S3237 Electronic, in mint condition...

I can't wait to get it and start playing lol

It appears to be mint, I'll post pictures when I receive it. Like any vacuum, I keep them spotless so I'll go over it and make sure it's clean before taking it into the house and turning it on...

This has a been a dream of mine, seriously...I remember as a small kid drooling over the Hoover canisters in catalogs...I had a Celebrity years ago in the mint green color, but sold it. This one is a pastel gray/grey with chrome...I have a brand new set of attachments socked away too, so if the attachments included are worn or too gross to use, I have a set all ready to go...

My mission for a TOL Hoover Spirit will complete my Hoover Canisters...I have a Dimension 1000 already in mint condition with the box and manual, so a Spirit will be a great find...

Picture from E-Bay below.

Any other Celebrity owners out there?

Nice

These are great machines! Enjoy! It's funny I was thinking about the Dimension yesterday. I really want a mint one. You don't see those too often. As for a Spirit if I find a mint one, then I'll let you know as it isn't one I'm after. Ron

WOW! That looks amazing!

Congrats on such a score. I know you will enjoy it. I want to find a dimension 1000 electronic with that same powerhead.

Where were the celebrities in the lineup? mid or top?

Hoover Canisters

I am not a Hoover expert, but I think the Dimensions were European, and not as popular here. They were not always included in the Hoover lineup in dept stores like the Celebrities were.

Those are great great vacuums!  I have a mint green model that's pretty basic, but it does have the tool caddy and the Quadraflex PN.  It's a VERY good canister.  The vacuum is very powerful and the PN does and excellent job too.

Ooh.  I saw that on 'the bay' .. and lusted after it.  That one's on my list.  I've seen a bunch of those over the years.

Can't wait to see more pictures!

That's the model where the power nozzle is wired in a circuit through the headlight.  If the headlight burns out, the power nozzle doesn't work.  What the hell was Hoover thinking? LoL.

I have the same one, though not all the attachments.... it is loud and powerful :o) Congrats..... it looks brand new!

Fred, I didn't know that! The headlight on mine has always worked, so its not an issue, but that's crazy!

Nice Celebrity

I have that same celebrity, unfortunatly the circuit board in my power nozzle is burnt out so the power nozzle won't run. And you can't get the circuit boards anymore. But other then the power nozzle not working, it is a great machine and very nice looking.

Consider....

It is highly, highly unlikely that Hoover had that particular circuit board manufactured solely for their own use. The Hoover company might be able to supply you with the specs so you could acquire an identical replacement. Many vac shop owners never throw any good parts away, "just in case" no matter how unlikely the need for it. Also, parts supply houses might have one tucked away somewhere, just not listed in the catalog.

A good addition to this forum would be a parts wanted/for sale board so that vac shop owners/collectors could post their assets and needs. Might restore a lot of vacuums and generate a bit of $$$ for shop owners.

Arrival Day

Yay, it's here, it's hear...haha I would rate this machine a 9.5 out of 10, nearly mint. Super Clean, the original attachments are shot, I will run them through the dishwasher, but I had a new set ready...perhaps I can salvage the original ones but kinda find them gross to use in my house, lol...we'll see...

I tested the machine out and I cannot believe how quiet the machine is, compared to my Dimension Canister. The powermatic is so much quieter than the Dimension one and I had to turn it upside down to make sure it was working, super quiet.

I love this machine and a childhood dream has been fulfilled. I would stare at these in catalogs as a child and tell my parents, we have to get one of these...

Here are a few pics....

Thanks everyone.
