Yeah, I'm fighting that with my parents. Dad's a hoarder and believes everything is worth at least four times its actual value. He also apparently believes my house is a TARDIS (Doctor Who reference), bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.
 
Time to discuss my dad's watch with bro maybe! Said they were up in value now.Not my style, hello Ebay? I will ask for sure.
 
Haha I wish my house was a TARDIS, I'm gonna need all that unlimited storage, I've got a time-traveling shopping spree to do!

On the comments under the article a woman says her house, "feels bigger" without a bunch of stuff in it.
I think that is a key point, houses cost a fortune nowadays compared to a lot of old stuff, better to get maximum value from the house...for many at least.
 
Having 1/4 of mom's goods still in my house, I can see that remark! Feel like the walls are falling in on me. Add to that Holiday decor, oh my
 
There's a good reason that I don't bother putting out any holiday decorations, besides the fact that December is one of the busiest times of my year as I'm trying to wrap up my fall semester.
