Well, I just won a Eureka Precision Upright from eBay. I believe it is from the 80's. I have always wanted one of the these, they are very cool. I am guessing that they are rare. The one I got just needs a light lens. Anyone have one? It was only 14 dollars, so I could not go wrong with that...

Eureka Precision

Yes, they are a rarity. Clearly, they wanted to make a machine to resemble the Hoover Concept One. I have that same cleaner, my father picked it up in the trash in the mid-'90's. I recall replacing the power drive cable on it. It's the only one I've ever seen up close. I believe Kyle Krichbaum has one as well.

An absolutely beautiful modern Eureka......

I think it was the next incarnation of the Eureka Ultra which was a very good carpet cleaner in its day.

Unfortunately for this Eurekafan, the Precision did not perform that well in Consumer Reports testing and was "beaten" (pardon the pun) by several other competitors on the market at the time - including the Hoover Concept upright which was top rated by CR at the time.

If memory serves me correctly, the Precision also came in a burgundy color. I believe that's the one CR tested.

really nice....id say you made a very good choice...and look forward to any test results you have to share...hope it comes soon ..

Yes Karl, you are correct: CU tested the burgundy version.

Click on the link below to see a Youtube clip of the burgundy Precision. It the guy posting the clip a VCCC club member?
