Ok here's the scoop,
I contacted this lady off of Craigs awhile back about a Kirby G6 and it didn't work out. So one day, I get home and check my e-mail. Here, I have a e-mail from the lady that had the G6. She found 3 Kirbys in her boutique shop and was wanting to know if I was interested. I'm like ummmm....HELL YA!!!(said that to myself). So she told me when she was going to be at her shop and I went today. She told me in the e-mail that one of the Kirbys was really old, another from '96 and another from '98. Ok, I was expecting 2 G5s. She opens the closet...........2 G6s!!!!!!(and the lonely legend) Ok, for some of you Kirby collectors, 2 G6s, you might be like ok, but for me, AAAAA, happy!!! The G6 was one of the first Kirbys I used. Love that model. Anyway, I plug the "Gsix" in, dead. Ok. I plug the "2001", thumbs up. I really didn't care at the moment about the Legend(sorry!!!(ducks). So I am sooo excited I can't even tell you. I hope no one minds if I need help in the future.
Thanks!

wow!

Score! What a great find! I saw a G6 2001 model on Craigs List in Tampa for 100 bucks and thought that was a good deal... but all of those for 50 bucks... WOW. I gladly paid 200 for my G5 a couple years ago. Wonder why the other G6 is dead. It appears to have the nozzle and bag on firmly... wonder if the cord isn't connected firmly to the machine.

I agree..... my Legend/Heritage is OK (I like the shape of the handle), but the power drive Kirbys are my fave.

Do you have any other Kirbys?

ya i couldn't pass it up. i now have 4 kirbys- g4, the two G6s, and the legend(use to have the heritage 84).
There is a story about the non-working G6:
The lady that sold them to me said that the lady in the front of the building(the botique is in the back) had the non-working G6 and gave it to her and said she was sucking something up and it must have stopped. I then wanted to clean that G6 up. So, I open the zipper on the bag and there is MAJOR dog hair. That didn't bother me the most. I then feel a whole bunch of crap down in the bottom of the CLOTH BAG. I bet you there was 4 inches of gravel/grim/hair/dirt TOPPED with plaster powder(or something like that). I also found a few nails in the mini-emptor. WELL!!! No wonder why the darn thing wasn't working. I don't get some people-(and I've said this before)you spend $1000 on a vacuum and suck up nails, gravel, grim, etc...?!?!? Whatever. Don't get it. Never will. There also was quite a bit of stuff on the belt drive part so I will try the machine tommorrow and if it doesn't power up, it will be taking a trip to the Kirby shop. I'll keep all you posted.

P.S. I also found a easy way to clean the bag with taking the mini-emptor off. I used a commercial utility cutter(knife, whatever you call it) and went under the snap tie thing and losened it with that. Worked good.

UPDATE

I got home today and got the bag off the clothes line from being dried and put the non-working G6 together and pushed the switch and....WORKS!!! I don't know what it was but I cleaned it out and made sure everything was in contact. I am sooooo excited. My mother couldn't even believe I got it working. I am just soooo excited.
