OMG, Another Trash Find !!!!!!!!!!

Well boys and gals, the amazing has happened. All those prayers and offerings to the great vacuum gods must finally be paying off, lol.. Monday I was visiting a friend's mom, and when the subject of vacs came up, (as it usually does when I'm around, lol), she mentioned she had a Rainbow that had been her Mother In Law's, and that she always hated it. (In this case, it meaning both the vacuum and the mother in law, lol). I enquired if she would be willing to part with it (just the vac, lol), and she said I was welcome to it if I was willing to dig it out... Uh-oh, scary words. Turns out it was stored in of all things, A TENT!! @__@ The tent, full of assorted junk, was in the corner of her backyard, under a tree, and consisted the 4 side panels, the top having fully disintegrated.. OH GOD.. So with much trepidation, I entered the pile......

And within, after much digging, what did I find? A Rainbow D4 in amazing condition!! Turns out, the other junk had stategically fallin in such a way to fully cover and protect the main body of the vac, the aquamate, tools, base, and the hose! It might as well have been indoors! Woo-hooo!!! The powerhead was a total loss, solid hunk of rust, but luckily my dear sweet lil mother had upgraded to one of the newer, smaller power nozzles for her Rainbow SE a few years back, and still had the original powerhead! Hehehehehehe!!!! I know have a D4 Rainbow, in great condition, and it works a treat! Sadly no matter how many layers of leaves and junk I dug through, I never found the floor and wall brush or the dusting brush, so they are eureka and sears mismatches right now, while I seek replacements for the originals..

I know, just so wrong... Luckily I found a dusting brush, hard floor brush and curved wand set today at my friend's vac shop. Nothing like a completed vac to make you smile. ^__^

My first vacuum i bought was a complete set, (Kirby D50, everything it could have came with it had) and I didnt understand the significance of it. lol. I actually declined to buy the tools but I had to or else they wouldnt sell it. :/


But now Im extremely happy that I have everything with it.

No need to apologize. To me its very relevant. Some people, (especially non-collectors) dont realize we sometimes spend months or years re-building a set of attachments, one peice at a time, always chasing that elusive, "missing peice". Even my Rainbow is not fully complete, as I still need the inflator, (though i have the coil cleaner, useless without the inflator though) and the sprayer/rexafoamer. I doubt I will ever use the sprayer, but I still want it to complete the set. And although its not original to this model, I foresee myself purchasing one of the "pistol grip" SE hoses, just because I prefer them. Such is the method of oiur madness, lol...
