Made around 1892-1900, or probably a little after that. It was made by the National Sweeper Co, and it was bought new by Bissell to compare to their sweepers. They made a ton of sweepers under hundreds of names, rivaling even Bissell. I have a beaten one made by the same company under the name Monarch, it is otherwise identical to this. Sadly there is not a whole lot of info out there on non-Bissell sweepers.

Grand Rapids Public Museum in the link above. They have 1300 or so sweepers from Bissell’s collection, plus some seriously rare electric vacs like the Bee Model D with the 6 sided motor and fan case. They have pics of most of it, and if you ask they will take more pics. It’ll take a couple weeks but they do it free and it is very worth it for vacs and sweepers with few to none other examples. In fact the Bee D has new pics.
