Saw this very interesting looking vintage vac at the Goodwill in Garland (Beltline and Shiloh).
It was in very good condition with nice cord and plug, nothing broken. Had a toggle switch on the bottom at back.
I did not have my camera but it looks like this picture I found online (same color), but there were no attachments or hose at the store, just the canister. Not sure what these would be worth but it was 21.99. I did not get it due to not knowing much about it and spending too much at the Kirby shop that is closing this week. I did not need anything else on my patio either. Any thoughts about this unit?

Not worth it for $21.99 missing all the parts - and no guarantee the motor isn't worn down.

Wait until half-off day and you can get it for $10 or so, if someone else doesn't buy it.

I did not get it and I do not think Goodwill even does a half off day with non-clothing items (other than on holidays when I will not set foot in a store). They are the only thrift store that is very poor on sales and is quite expensive overall.
Given the condition this one was in, I bet it would be still full of life....

What a beautiful picture of a gold 1956 Rexair rainbow. The one in the picture is stunning, complete, and just like it came out of the box yesterday. I know. That’s my picture. And that is my personal rainbow. That photo was taken at the museum.

This is my 1961 rainbow that lives at home in the vacuum closet. It only comes out when my friends come over. It is extraordinarily rare almost one of a kind but not quite.

Dang

The hose on that rainbow looks brand new. The attachments look similar to either electrolux or filter queen. It's a beauty.

Turbo360,
AWESOME! Yes, I that was the one I had in my hands and I actually thought of you maybe wanting it since you are local. All the reason for the post was to hopefully get it into a collector's hands due to its nice condition.

Now, do you want any more Kirbys? Haha... :o)
Yes, I picked up some more that I cannot keep...

turbo360j. I'm GLAD you saved that Rare Rainbow!

Dysonman1. what a great condition rainbow, thx for sharing the photo, I had never seen one complete before

That machine is one of the very first models ever called a Rainbow model. It was made in 1955 only. Martin-Perry was subjected to a hostile takeover by Wards Industries in 1956. Such a rare model you have there. I can help with attachments as I have many spares.
