I was wondering what are the old hoover bags that used the spreader system- what were they made of?

Any clues for dimensions?

It might be a tad late for an answer, but better late than never.

They were made of a sort of silky material. Chemically treated I think. The old style ones were on the short side compared to newer ones. I also have a later style bag that is spreader style, and it is a regular height. If your still interested in this info, I can take some measurements for you.

Ryan...are you talking about the bag on your Hoover 575? If so, if you're not keeping the original, I'd be happy to buy it off you, regardless of the condition.

Let me know.

Jack

yes

That is it.

I am really still debating about it. Its in such horrid condition. It is most likely impossible to fix.

I'd never, ever throw out an original bag, even if it's not suitable for use. If you don't want it, please let me know.

It does have mold growing on it. and is crumbleing when touched. I picked it up and the bottom started ripping off.

Although it does have its bag spreader still!

I may keep it for parts- the fan and brush roll are very very clean and the BR spins like a dream. So those are good-

I am not sure on the motor- since the machine has a cloth cord- and it has tape on it, I do not want to risk getting shocked.

I only meant the bag, I already have a nice 575! If you decide you don't want it, perhaps you could send me some photos of it?
