Old Floor Nozzle

I posted a message in the contemporary forum last week, and didn't get any replies, so I was wondering if anyone in the vintage forum could help me out.

Okay, so I have this nozzle that came with my aunt's Nutone central vacuum system, model cv353, and you are able to swap the carpet nozzle for a brush on the end of the metal piece which connects to the wand. There is a slight problem though that I am in need of assistance with. The metal piece that is currently in the carpet nozzle doesn't fit into the brush hole. It simply slides out because the hole is too big. Can anyone help me with this? Am I missing an adaptor piece somewhere? I noticed that this tool looks similar to the Eureka canister nozzle's as well.

P.S. yes, that is zebra print duct-tape covering the top of the nozzle as it has a crack in the top of it

Also, Does anyone know where I could get another one of the rug nozzles+the metal curved piece? Im looking for a new one since this one is falling apart.

Eureka Nutone Floor Nozzles

You can find these periodically on E-Bay, but you might have to buy them attached to a cheap Eureka canister from the 60's. I didn't see any tonight, but if you are patient, you might find them. I always thought that floor nozzle, with the curved wand, was elegant.
As far as why the floor brush won't stay on, that rubber might have stretched when someone tried to put it on another type of wand. It is a pretty simple design, so it is rather odd it won't stay put.

What does the inside of the hole of the floor brush look like? There should be an inside ring in white or clear plastic that the curved metal wand fits into.

I pulled out one of my Nutone tool sets and took a look. From your picture, it appears that the inner ring is missing from the nozzle. and that's often the case. Nutone floor brushes never had the cut-out for the hump on the wand. Instead, you just pushed the wand into the hole until it "snapped" into place. Anther good pull would remove it. It took some getting used to!
P.S. I love the older Nutone tool sets that came in the brown platic suitcase. We kept ours mounted on the wall in the broom closet!

Thanks guys for all the help. @luxflairguy, This one came in a brown plastic case as well. Ive been trying to get it from my aunt for a few years now. Does anyone know where to buy the inner ring at? Do you think my local vac shop would have it? And also, where can I buy the nozzle for use on rugs.... Not the actual brush end?

Try your local vac shop. They are the same as the older Eureka sets. That's how I got mine, but that was a few years ago (...like maybe 10-15 yrs...). You might also checje the Nutone/Broan site itself.
