OMG...
Although I'm American, I remember some of these commercials!
When I was in elementary school at 5th grade, I was NUTS about vacuum cleaners! I would ask all of my teachers about the vacuums that they owned, and they would tell me all about them and even bring in manuals and photos of their machines. But ironically, I never even operated a vacuum cleaner back then, because I was afraid of the noise!
After school, I would go onto vacuum websites and marvel at all the different vacuums. Oh, and I would watch videos and commercials, too, including the early "Ball" commercials. I didn't know about YouTube back then. I even went on Dyson.co.uk to watch some of those UK commercials!

I remember them comparing theirs to the first US hoover bagless vacuum, that had two chambers with a tall filter in the second one. That one was horrible at clogging the filter.
He had a point there. But in the grand scheme of things, his vacs still lost suction because they had filters that clogged, just not as fast.

My uncle in Austria had a Citroen BX estate for many years, until it too badly failed it's MOT with suspension problems, so he went out and bought a Xantia Estate which he still uses.
My other uncle back in the UK also had a BX, he had his for a couple of years before he had a family.
We have had Volkswagen/Audi cars for the last 10 years or so, and my father religiously recommends them, to the point where most of our family have them! My uncle in Scotland has a MKV Golf, my cousin in Scotland has a VW Fox, my uncle down south has a Seat Altea, my auntie has a Polo from 2006, my other uncle has a 2012 Passatt Estate, and many more people we know have them too. And why not, they are superb cars.

Volkswagens are brilliant vehicles. Beautifully built and very refined. I have an A6 3.0 TDI now, had an A3 before. I grew up with a B5 97' Passat 1.8 20v. My dad had that car for about 6 years, longest he ever kept a car, think in around 2007 he changed it in for an A8.
Those BX's were very advanced for their time, all round disc breaks, hydro suspension, power steering all from a car design in the early 80's. The design of that car was supposed to be a Reliant of some sort, but Reliant turned down the idea due to bankruptcy I believe.

I love your profile pic. I love Peugeot-Citroens and always drove them. Currently have a 7 year old C4 Coupe with fixed hub steering wheel, large Central digital speedo. It's been great, but It maybe my last Citroen however as the newer ones have lost their quirkiness. Though the DS4 looks nice though.
Back on topic I remember all Dyson adverts from 1997 and I have all the brochures for DC01, 02, 04, 05 etc. I used to go on the website when at school and go to look at the DC03 clear and DC05 clear and be totally fascinated by them. I remember when the DC05 came out and I saw it for the first time in a small Currys, I couldn't believe how small it was compared to the DC02. I bought a DC05 when I was 15 years old with my weekend job money, but had many issues with it and the cable retracting when got hot, this was on two DC05's so Dyson swapped it for a DC03 which I could tell was reconditioned but I didn't care. It converted me to uprights.
I do miss the nice flashy brochures we used to get. Dyson doesn't have the same effect on me now. But their old adverts and brochures were something special.

Turbo500 I love that brochure!! There's one of those in my parents shed but there's no switch inside of it. I found it outside a house when I was at school back in 1999.
